EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Bloomsburg University's Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) captured the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title in the 10,000 meters to open the Huskies competition at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday night on the campus of East Stroudsburg.

Bloomsburg's standout freshman was seeded second in the event and won by just over three seconds, finishing with a time of 37:02.19 after running a tight race with Kutztown's Corinne Manela who would finish second at 37:05.57.

"Hannah has had a tremendous year, and being able to cap it off with a PSAC title is truly special," Bloomsburg head coach Bernie Empie said.  "She learned a lot from her first 10K at Bucknell and followed the race plan tonight perfectly.  She controlled the pace when she needed to, covered the breakaway at the correct time, and closed the race off fantastically. I'm excited by the progress she had made this year and I'm positive this is just one of many accolades she will garner over the next three years."

It is the continuation of a tremendous first year in Maroon and Gold for Boudreau who placed sixth in the mile run and 5,000 meters and ninth in the 3,000 meters at the PSAC Indoor Championships in February and was named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region in the mile, 3K and 5K following the indoor season. During cross country season, Boudreau received PSAC Freshman of the Year accolades.

Boudreau's win marks the second straight year that a Huskies track athlete has won the conference outdoor championship in the 10K with Kate Dodds (Ambler/Upper Dublin) capturing the title last spring.

PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships continue at East Stroudsburg on Friday.
