RESULTSPHILADELPHIA—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2015-16 season with a 6-3 win over Philadelphia University Saturday night at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center in Philadelphia.

Bloomsburg jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles action. At number one singles
Dhir Gala (Mumbai, India/Mithibaii) and
Pablo Hererro (Puerto de la Cruz, Spain/British School Tenerife) won 9-7, while
Gerard Puig (Sabadell, Spain/Juame Viladoms) and
Nenyi Micah (Allentown/William Allen) posted an 8-3 victory. At number three
Steve Williams (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) and
Scott Langenbach (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) won 8-2.

In singles play the Huskies got the match-clinching wins from Langenabach and Williams at five and six singles. Langenbach posted a 6-4, 6-2 win, while Williams won 6-2, 6-1.

Bloomsburg's sixth point came from Puig who was playing number two singles and posted a thrilling three-set win, 2-6, 6-2, 10-3.

The Huskies, 2-0, are idle till its spring break trip on March 6.
