BOX SCOREBLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team opened its spring home schedule by blanking PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) rival Millersville University, 9-0, on Friday afternoon at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.

The Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play losing just four games over the three matches. At number one
Pablo Herrero (Puerto de la Cruz, Spain/British School Tenerife) and
Dhir Gala (Mumbai, India/Mithibaii) won 8-1, while at number two
Nenyi Micah (Allentown/William Allen) and
Gerard Puig (Sabadell, Spain/Juame Viladoms) also won 8-1. At three doubles the team of
Scott Langenbach (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) and
Steve Williams (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) won their team-high fifth match of the season by an 8-2 score.

In singles play Puig got the Huskies fourth point of the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at number two, while
Dhir Gala (Mumbai, India/Mithibaii) recorded the deciding point with a 6-2, 6-1 win at number three. Gala now has a team-high seven singles wins on the season.

With the match in hand the Huskies went for the shutout winning at number six with
Pedro Andari (Mogi dos Cruzes, Spain/Santa Monica) who scored a 6-3, 6-2 win, while Herrero also won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 at number one. Bloomsburg closed out the match with two matches that each had a tie-breaker in the first set.
Gilberto Machado (Puerto de la Cruz, Cananary Islands/International British Yeoward School) picked up a 7-6 (2), 6-3 win at four, while
Leonardo Nakasone (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Enig) won at number five 7-6 (5), 6-1.

The Huskies go to 3-6, 1-2 in the PSAC, and will host Bloomfield on Thursday, March 31.
