HTML BOX SCOREBLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team inched closer to earning a PSAC playoff berth with a 7-2 win over West Chester University on Saturday afternoon at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.

Bloomsburg got off to a good start sweeping doubles play. The number two team of
Nenyi Micah (Allentown/William Allen) and
Gerard Puig (Sabadell, Spain/Juame Viladoms) posted a dominating win by a score of 8-1, while
Pablo Herrero (Puerto de la Cruz, Spain/British School Tenerife) and
Dhir Gala (Mumbai, India/Mithibaii) won 8-1 at number two. The toughest match of the doubles competition came at number three with the Huskies team of
Scott Langenbach (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) and
Steve Williams (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) winning 8-6.

In singles the Huskies got their fourth point of the match at number four singles when
Gilberto Machado (Puerto de la Cruz, Cananary Islands/International British Yeoward School) posted a 6-2, 6-3 win. After a West Chester win at number two singles made it 4-1, the deciding match point came at number three singles when Gala rallied from down a set to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Bloomsburg closed out the remaining matches by winning two of the final three to post a 7-2 win.

The Huskie are now 4-6, 2-2 in the PSAC, taking over second place in the conference. The top four teams qualify for the PSAC playoffs. Bloomsburg will host the BU Duals next Friday and Saturday.
