STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg men's soccer team has seen its winless streak reach six games (0-5-1) since its season-opening 1-0 victory over Felician on September 1. The Huskies will look to snap the streak when they travel to California University of Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon. Bloomsburg is 1-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the PSAC standings while California enters with a 4-1-1 overall mark and a 1-1-1 record in league play.

California (PA) leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg, 13-9-4.
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies suffered a 2-1 overtime loss at the hands of Seton Hill last Saturday, September 17 at Steph Pettit Stadium. Bloomsburg led 1-0 just 6:10 into the contest when redshirt junior buried his team-leading second goal of the season. But, the Griffins responded just over a minute later and then scored the game-winner with 3:31 left in the first overtime session. California (PA) continued its fine start to the 2016 season with a 1-0 win over Cedarville on Wednesday night. Freshman Cooper Amos scored the game-winning goal with 4:10 left in regulation to propel the Vulcans to the victory. Cedarville held a 21-16 advantage in shots but sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Exner stopped a career-high ten shots for his fourth shutout of the season.
LAST MEETING
Last season, the teams met at Steph Pettit Stadium on September 26 with the Vulcans pulling out a high-scoring, 4-3, double overtime victory over the Huskies.
Austin Transue (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) had two goals and an assist as the Huskies built up a 3-1 lead early in the second half after California struck first in the 19th minute.
Ken Herrmann (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) also scored for Bloomsburg. But, the Vulcans marched back with two goals late in the second half to tie the game at 3-3. Then, just 1:50 into the second overtime, California's Eric Campbell scored the game-winner - his second goal of the game - to knock off the Huskies. SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Since winning their opening match against Felician, the Huskies have gone 0-5-1 in their last five contests. Offense has been a concern early as Bloomsburg has scored just five goals in seven games this season. The Huskies rank 11th out of 12 teams in the PSAC in scoring average (0.71 per game) and tied for 10th in the league in goals allowed per game (2.00). Redshirt junior

Jacob Pesarcik (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has played well in goal for the Huskies as he ranks in the top ten in the PSAC in several categories. Despite a 1-4-1 record, Pesarcik is tenth in the league with a 1.91 goals against average, fifth in the league with a .774 save percentage, and second in the league with 41 saves.Â
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA (PA)
The Vulcans started the season with three wins in three games but have since gone 1-1-1 in their last three contests. California (PA) ranks ninth in the PSAC in goals per game (1.50) but is tops in the conference in goals allowed has it has given up only three goals in six games to date. Freshman Cooper Amos leads the team in goals (4) and points (8) while Eric Campbell has chipped in two goals and an assist for five points. Both of Campbell's goals have been game-winners. Amos, meanwhile, is tied for fourth in the league in goals scored. Goalkeeper Lucas Exner leads the PSAC in goals against average (0.52) and save percentage (.909) while being tied for the top spot in the conference with four shutouts. He is coming off of a career-high ten-save shutout in the win over Cedarville on Wednesday night.

Bloomsburg returns to Steph Pettit Stadium on Wednesday, September 28, for a non-conference matchup against Philadelphia University. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
