KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Freshman Amanda Aulenbach (Fleetwood, PA/Oley Valley) made her first appearance in a collegiate heptathlon at Kutztown University's Mondschein Multi and passed with flying colors as she finished fifth out of 22 competitors in the event. She posted 3980 total points over the two-day competition.

Aulenbach was in 13th place after day one but made a move on the field with a dominating performance in the javelin and a strong showing in the 800-meter run to climb to fifth on day two. Her javelin throw of 39.48 meters got her 657 points in the standings with her closest competitor being Michalya Weitman of East Stroudsburg, who posted a mark of 32.06 meters for 516 points. In the 800-meter runs, Aulenbach finished in 2:29.96 to finish second only to Lock Haven's Lydia Werner (2:24.08).

Werner won the heptathlon with a total of 4313 points. Seton Hill's Angela McCowin was second with 4244 points while Kali Dawson of Shippensburg was third with 4063 points. West Chester's Caroline DiJiosia was fourth with 4036 points.

On day one, Aulenbach had a fourth-place showing in the shot put with a mark of 9.21 meters, good for 478 points. She also finished ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.18 which added 617 points to her total.
