WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team won all three doubles matches and then the first three singles matches to take care of West Chester University, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon for its third consecutive victory. The Huskies improved to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings while the Golden Rams dropped to 1-10 overall and 0-4 in league play.
While all three doubles matches were competitive, the Huskies were able to sweep doubles action to take a 3-0 lead into singles play. Seniors Gerard Puig and Steve Williams teamed up for the most lopsided win in doubles with a decision at #1 over West Chester's Norman Patten and Lucas von der Heyde.
In singles, Williams gave the Huskies a 4-0 advantage with a 6-0, 6-4 win at #4 over Keanu Travelino. Sophomore Pedro Andari then clinched the Bloomsburg win with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #5 over Aidan Henken. Freshman Christian Cioffi posted the Huskies' final win of the day at #6 - a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Kylil Curry.
West Chester won the other three singles matches in straight sets but the damage had already been done.
