BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team gave Mercyhurst University everything it could handle on Friday afternoon but fell, 5-1, in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) semifinals at the Burt Reese Tennis Center. The Huskies end their season with a 6-10 overall record while the Lakers advance to Saturday's championship match, against Edinboro, with a 13-9 overall mark.

Mercyhurst took two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles action. Sophomore Leonardo Nakasone and redshirt sophomore Christian Cioffi teamed up for the Huskies' win in doubles - an 8-2 victory at #3. Sophomore Pedro Andari and senior Pablo Herrero had the Lakers on the ropes at #2 but fell, 8-6.

In singles, after Andari and freshman Henrique Conrado Stemmer both fell in straight sets to put Mercyhurst ahead, 4-1, the deciding match came at #3 where Nakasone battled the Lakers' Joaquin Aguilera. Nakasone was leading the first set, 5-1, but Aguilera stormed back for a 7-5 win in the opener and then completed the straight sets victory with a 6-2 win in the second set to end the match.

Bloomsburg was leading the other three matches that went unfinished after the Lakers captured their fifth, and deciding, win on the afternoon.
