COMPLETE RESULTS
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's indoor track and field team returned to action on Friday night at the Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Kutztown University. The Huskies posted five Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks - all of which came in the field events.
Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) picked up where she left off prior to the long break as she won the long jump with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 5.54 meters on Friday night while
Amanda Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) placed second overall in the high jump with a height of 1.62 meters.
Chelsea Vaughn () also qualified for the conference meet in the high jump with a fourth-place mark of 1.57 meters.
Natalia Konitzer (Orangeville, Pa./Marian Catholic) and
Amanda Aulenbach (Fleetwood, Pa./Oley Valley) also competed in the high jump and placed 15th and 17th respectively.
In the weight throw, both
Rachael Sullivan (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) and
Hannah Masenheimer (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) surpassed the conference standard during the meet. Sullivan finished third with a throw of 14.43 meters while Masenheimer was fourth with a best mark of 13.50 meters.
Only five Huskies competed on the track during the meet with
Autumn Avery (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) and
Sarah Gottschalk (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) each collecting second-place finishes. Avery was the runner-up in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:15.39 while Gottschalk finished second in the 500-meter run after crossing the finish line in 1:24.69.
Danielle Adornetto (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) placed eighth in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:44.14.
In the 400-meter dash, Konitzer and
Kendall Lookingbill (York, Pa./Red Lion) were 11th and 15th respectively.
The Huskies will compete again on Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 when they take part in the Keydet Invitational hosted by Virginia Military Institute.
