LEXINGTON, Va. - The Bloomsburg University women's indoor track and field team wrapped up competition at the two-day Keydet Invitational, hosted by Virginia Military Institute, on Saturday. The Huskies had several strong performances on the final day including a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time from
Carli Dedics (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) in the 200-meter dash.
Dedics posted a time of 26.63 to get under the conference standard. She finished second in her section and placed 36th overall in the event.
Autumn Avery (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) had a solid afternoon as she was the Huskies' top finisher in the 800-meter run and then teamed up with
Sarah Gottschalk (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township),
Natalia Konitzer (Orangeville, Pa./Marian Catholic), and
Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) for a 15th-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. In the 800, Avery finished second in her section, and 20th overall, with a time of 2:28.56.
Danielle Adornetto (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) also competed in the event and crossed the finish line in 31st place with a time of 2:46.69.
The 4x400-meter relay team posted a time of 4:10.61.
Gottschalk led the Huskies in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.10 to place 29th overall. Konitzer won her section and finished 32nd, posting a time of 1:03.77, in the same event.
Also competing for Bloomsburg on Saturday were
Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll), who finished 27th in the mile with a time of 5:33.70, and
April Panas (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood), who placed 35th in the 3000-meter run with a mark of 13:22.69.
The Huskies will be back in action on Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27, to compete at the Bison Open and Multi, hosted by Bucknell University.
