STORYLINE
The Huskies look to compete in their first dual match of the season with a non-conference match at Jefferson University. This will be the first career dual match for all of BU's eight freshmen.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This will be the sixth all-time meeting between Bloomsburg and Jefferson (formerly Philadelphia University). Jefferson leads the all-time series 3-2.
LAST MEETING
Jefferson defeated Bloomsburg 5-4 last season on Feb. 18, 2018. The Huskies won two out of three doubles matches, with
Gerard Puig (Sabadell, Spain/Jaume Viladoms) and
Steve Williams (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) winning at No. 1 8-5 and
Leonardo Nakasone (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Enig) and
Pedro Andari (Mogi dos Cruzes, Brazil/Santa Monica) winning 8-3 at No. 3. Jefferson made its comeback in the singles competition, winning four out of six singles matches. The Rams won every singles match from No. 1 to No. 4, before Nakasone won at No. 5 singles 6-4, 6-2 and Andari captured a 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 win at No. 6 singles.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team battled through a blustery wind during the opening day of the PSAC Championships back on Sept. 30. The tandem of
Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) and
Nagid Walle (Nassau, Bahamas/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) fell 8-6 to West Chester's Lucas von der Heyde and Charlie Rushing in the opening round of doubles play. Pedrotti rebounded in singles play with a 6-0, 6-2 win to advance to the round of eight. He fell 6-2, 6-2 to Cormac McCooey of Mercyhurst in the following match.
Jefferson dropped their last dual match to visiting Chestnut Hill 6-3 back on Oct. 13. After Chestnut Hill swept doubles play, Luis Molina Megias got the Rams on the board with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. Liviu Trifoli won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, before Joseph Sison closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies have a total 5-2 record in doubles play, as well as an 11-7 combined mark in singles play. The tandem of
Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and
Guillermo Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Colegio Hispalense) is 2-0, while Pedrotti and Walle as a unit are 2-1. The duo of
Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/FJLS) and
Vinicius Ribeiro de Camargo (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Reino Anglo) is also 1-1 on the year. In singles play, four men have two wins apiece. Carranza and Leutzig are 2-0 each, while Abreu is 2-1 and Pedrotti is 2-2. Ribeiro De Camargo,
Rafael Rufato (Sao Paulo, Brazil/OCEU Positivo) and Walle each have one singles win so far on the season.
SCOUTING JEFFERSON
The Rams have a combined 4-7 record in doubles play and also a 12-13 combined singles record. The team of Megias and Trifoi lead the doubles effort with a 2-1 record, while two other doubles units have one win each so far on the season. In singles play, Trifoi has a team-best 4-2 record, while Oskar Haedicke is 3-3 in singles. Sison is also 3-1 in singles play, while two others have one singles win apiece.

The Huskies will compete next when they travel south for Spring Break. Their trip begins with a match against Bentley on Mar. 10. The match start time is to be announced.
