SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University women's track and field team competed at the Susquehanna Open on Friday night (Feb. 16).
On the track, the 4X200-meter relay team of
Carli Dedics (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area),
Sarah Gottschalk (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township),
Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and
Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) won the event in 1:46.37.
Autumn Kaminski (Mountain Top, Pa./Holy Redeemer) also won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.76 seconds, while
Jessica Brenfleck (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished fourth (1:02.71) in the 400-meter dash. Dedics would finish second (8.01) in the 60-meter dash, while also finishing second (27.10) in the 200-meter dash. Angela Myers (27.73) also finished seventh in the event.
Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) (10:24.15) also won the 3,000-meter run.
In the field events,
Rachael Sullivan (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) (14.42 meters) finished third in the weight throw, while Stevenson finished fourth (5.20 meters) in the long jump. Amanda Pearson finished third (10.45 meters) in the triple jump, while
Alexis Burd (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) (9.91 meters) finished fifth.
Alaina Pearson (Coal Township, Pa./Shamokin Area) finished the pole vault tied for fourth (2.90 meters), while
Amanda Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) won the high jump (1.62 meters) and
Natalia Konitzer (Orangeville, Pa./Marian Catholic) (1.47 meters) finished fourth.
The women's team competes next in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Edinboro University. The two-day event begins on Feb. 24 and will also take place on Feb. 25. A start time is to be determined.
