DAY ONE RESULTS

EDINBORO, Pa. - Senior Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) and junior Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) each earned third-place finishes on Saturday to lift the Bloomsburg University women's indoor track and field team into a tie for seventh place after day one of the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Championships, hosted by Edinboro University. The Huskies collected a total of 15 points with 12 of those coming from Boudreau and O'Malley.

Boudreau, who entered the meet seeded 13th in the 5000-meter run, climbed all the way to third in the event on Saturday to collect six points for the Huskies. Boudreau crossed the finish line in 17:50.24, chopping 42 seconds off of her previous season-best time.

O'Malley, meanwhile, finished third in the long jump with a mark of 5.74 meters - good enough for an NCAA provisional mark and another six points for the Huskies in the overall team standings. Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), competing in her first collegiate conference championship, also earned a spot on the podium in the long jump as she finished eighth with a mark of 5.30 meters.

The other two team points came from the Huskies' 4x800-meter relay team that finished seventh with a time of 10:22.58. The foursome consisted of Danielle Adornetto (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional), Autumn Avery (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville), Jessica Brenfleck (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), and Natalia Konitzer (Orangeville, Pa./Marian Catholic).

Also of note on Saturday were seniors Rachael Sullivan (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) and Hannah Masenheimer (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) in the weight throw. Despite both coming up just short of the podium, Sullivan finished tenth overall with a mark of 14.59 meters while Masenheimer recorded a personal-best throw of 14.35 meters to place 13th overall.

Sunday's final day of competition is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m.
