COMPLETE RESULTS

EDINBORO, Pa. - Junior Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) earned the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) title in the triple jump on Sunday afternoon, helping the Bloomsburg University women's indoor track and field team to a ninth-place finish at the 2018 PSAC Indoor Championships, hosted by Edinboro University, this weekend. The Huskies finished with a total of 43 points in the team standings.

O'Malley entered her sixth, and final, attempt in a tie with Pitt-Johnstown's Kia Clayton with a best mark of the day of 11.95 meters. After fouling on her fifth try, O'Malley posted a distance of 12.02 meters on her final jump - just shy of her school-record jump of 12.06 meters set earlier this season at the Houghton December Classic - to claim her second career PSAC indoor title. It was also an NCAA provisional mark. She won the indoor championship in the 400-meter dash last season.

O'Malley was also a part of the fifth-place 4x400-meter relay team on Sunday afternoon.

The Huskies also found success in the high jump on Sunday as both senior Amanda Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and freshman Chelsea Vaughn () tied for third in the event after clearing a height of 1.62 meters. Simone came into the event with the fifth-best mark of the season in the PSAC at 1.65 meters. After clearing 1.62 on her first try, Simone was unable to get over at 1.67 meters which ended her afternoon. Vaughn, meanwhile, was a little more of a surprise in earning a spot on the podium. Competing in her first collegiate championship meet, Vaughn cleared a personal-best height of 1.62 meters on her first try to put her in a tie with Simone for third. Like Simone, that was as high as Vaughn could clear.

Vaughn's best mark coming into the meet was 1.58 meters - 11th-best in the conference.

The duo also competed in the triple jump with Simone finishing 13th (10.86 meters) and Vaughn placing 20th (10.33 meters).

On the track, the Huskies had two more podium results. Senior Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) earned her second top-eight finish of the weekend as she placed fifth overall with a time of 10:11.26 in the 3000-meter run. On Saturday, Boudreau finished third in the 5000-meter run. Meanwhile, the 4x400-meter relay team also posted a fifth-place result after crossing the finish line in 3:58.52. The foursome consisted of Sarah Gottschalk (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township), Carli Dedics (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area), Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), and O'Malley.

O'Malley will wait to see if she has qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships as she holds the 16th-best mark in the country in the triple jump (12.06 meters) and the 25th-best mark in the long jump (5.74 meters). The Huskies' outdoor season will begin on Saturday, March 24, when they head to West Chester University to compete in the Golden Ram Invitational.
