YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Bloomsburg University women's indoor track and field team got seven Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifiers and an NCAA provisional mark from junior
Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) in the triple jump as the Huskies concluded their weekend at the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational on Saturday.
O'Malley's NCAA provisional mark of 11.70 meters in the triple jump placed her second overall and it marks the third time this season that she has had a provisional mark in the event. The junior currently has the seventh-best mark in the country this season when she jumped 12.06 meters at the Houghton December Classic in the team's final event before the new year. She later teamed up with
Sarah Gottschalk (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township),
Carli Dedics (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area), and
Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) for a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:01.94.
Bloomsburg had two other PSAC qualifiers in the field events on Saturday.
Chelsea Vaughn () posted a personal-best mark of 10.52 meters in the triple jump to finish 16th overall while
Amanda Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) took third in the high jump with a best mark of the day of 1.60 meters.
On the track, four Huskies qualified for the conference meet later this month.
Madison Mimnaugh (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Pittston Area) placed second overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.56 while
Autumn Avery (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) joined her in getting under the PSAC standard in the event after she crossed the finish line in 2:24.33 to finish 13th overall.
Stevenson took 27th in the 200-meter dash with a conference-qualifying time of 26.80 while
Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) posted a time of 10:40.39 to finish 11th overall in the 3000-meter run. It marked the first time this indoor season that Boudreau competed in the 3000-meter run.
Bloomsburg is scheduled to head to Bucknell University on Friday, February 9, to compete in the Bucknell Tune-Up.
