ORLANDO, Fla. – The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team dropped the opening match of their Spring Break trip to Bentley 6-3 at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus on Saturday (Mar. 10).
Bloomsburg won one of three doubles matches, with
Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and
Guillermo Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Colegio Hispalense) taking an 8-6 victory at No. 2 over Michael Fuca and Brett Gilman.
The Huskies would also get two singles wins on the afternoon, beginning with a 6-1, 6-4 win by
Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) over George Samander.
Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) got the other singles win at No. 6 over Nick Hatcher 7-5, 6-2.
Bentley improves to 9-4 on the season with the win, while Bloomsburg moves to 0-2.
The Huskies hit the courts again on Monday (Mar. 12) to battle St. Thomas Aquinas. The action is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start.
