ORLANDO, Fla. – The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team won its second straight match on Thursday (Mar. 15), defeating Ithaca College 6-3.
Bloomsburg fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, but was able to rebound in singles and win five of six matches.
Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) and 
Nagid Walle (Nassau, Bahamas/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) dropped an 8-4 contest at No. 1 doubles, while 
Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and 
Rafael Rufato (Sao Paulo, Brazil/OCEU Positivo) fell at No. 2 8-3. The tandem of 
Guillermo Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Colegio Hispalense) and 
Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/FJLS) captured the lone doubles win at No. 3 with an 8-4 victory over Sam McGrath and Garrett Boleslav.
Pedrotti began singles play with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Minos Stavrakas, while Abreu dropped his match at No. 2 6-4, 3-6, 10-6. Walle picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 over Colton Lavery, while Carranza earned a 6-0 6-1 win at No. 4 over Max Prestwich. 
Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) earned an identical 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 over Liam Spiegel, before Luetzig closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win over George Lomas.
The win moves both Bloomsburg and Ithaca to 2-4 on the season.
The Huskies open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play when they travel to Edinboro next Friday (Mar. 23). The match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
