COMPLETE RESULTS
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's track and field team got its outdoor season underway on Saturday at the West Chester Quad Meet as the Huskies competed against West Chester, East Stroudsburg, and Kutztown. Bloomsburg posted three victories and collected eight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifiers in its season-opening event.
Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) earned the only Huskies' victory on the track with a PSAC-qualifying time of 17:59.06 in the 5000-meter run. In the field events,
Amanda Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) won the high jump by clearing a height of 1.63 meters while
Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) posted a win in the long jump with a mark of 5.69 meters. Both Simone and O'Malley qualified for the conference championships in May.
Joining Simone and O'Malley as conference qualifiers in the field events were
Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn),
Rachael Sullivan (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg),
Hannah Masenheimer (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh), and
Amanda Aulenbach (Fleetwood, Pa./Oley Valley). Stevenson finished third in the long jump with a mark of 5.43 meters, Masenheimer qualified in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.97 meters to finish fifth, and Aulenbach placed second overall in the javelin with a throw of 40.18 meters. Sullivan, meanwhile, qualified in two events after finishing second in the discus (36.21 meters) and fourth in the hammer throw (41.43 meters).
The Huskies had several other top-five performances on Saturday to assist in the overall team scoring. On the track,
Sarah Gottschalk (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.72 while
Madison Mimnaugh (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Pittston Area) had a similar fourth-place result in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:06.53. In the 800-meter run,
Autumn Avery (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) finished fifth after crossing the finish line in 2:24.40. Finally,
Autumn Kaminski (Mountain Top, Pa./Holy Redeemer) took fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:13.49) and placed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.95).
In the field events,
Alaina Pearson (Coal Township, Pa./Shamokin Area) cleared a height of 3.15 meters in the pole vault to finish fifth overall.
The Huskies will be back in action on Friday, April 6, when they head to the Johns Hopkins Invitational before traveling to Millersville University on Saturday, April 7, to compete in the Millersville Metrics.
