BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University men's tennis team fell to visiting Jefferson University 7-2 at the Burt Reese Tennis Center on Friday (Apr. 13).
The Huskies lost all three doubles matches, before picking up two wins in singles.
Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) and
Nagid Walle (Nassau, Bahamas/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) fell 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, while
Guillermo Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Colegio Hispalense) and
Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/FJLS) lost 8-6 at No. 2.
Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and
Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) dropped their No. 3 doubles contest 8-5 before the teams transitioned to singles play.
Pedrotti lost at No. 1 6-3, 6-3 before Abreu picked up a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 2 over Liviu Trifoi. Walle fell at No. 3 6-3, 7-5 before Carranza earned the other singles win at No. 4 6-4, 3-6. 12-10 over Jacobo Atri. Tauber dropped his No. 5 singles bout 6-4, 6-4 before Luetzig fell at No. 6 6-2, 7-6.
The win moves Jefferson to 5-8 while Bloomsburg falls to 4-8 with the loss.
The Huskies are back in action tomorrow morning (Saturday (Apr. 14) when they take on Virginia State at home. First serve is set for 9:00 a.m.
