COMPLETE RESULTS
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's outdoor track and field team had ten individuals qualify for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships next month - four of whom are new qualifers - as the Huskies competed at the fourth annual Shippensburg University Collegiate Invitational on Wednesday evening.
The day was highlighted by junior
Kirsten O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) who posted an NCAA provisional mark in the long jump with a season-best mark of 5.80 meters to finish fourth overall in the event. Her previous best was 5.69 meters at the West Chester Quad Meet which opened the Huskies' outdoor season. O'Malley was joined by freshman
Kathleen Stevenson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) who finished ninth with a season-best, and PSAC-qualifying, mark of 5.49 meters.
Staying in the field events, senior
Amanda Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) became a new qualifier in the triple jump as she posted a season-best mark fo 11.02 meters to hit the conference standard. She placed sixth overall on Wednesday. Freshman
Alaina Pearson (Coal Township, Pa./Shamokin Area) was also a new qualifier for the Huskies in the pole vault as she cleared a height of 3.45 meters to finish in a tie for third. Senior
Rachael Sullivan (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) qualified twice as she hit the standard in both the discus (37.46 meters) and the hammer throw (43.82 meters). She finished fourth in the discus and tenth in the hammer throw. Sophomore
Amanda Aulenbach (Fleetwood, Pa./Oley Valley) placed fourth in the javelin with a PSAC-qualifying throw of 36.49 meters.
Finally, senior
Hannah Masenheimer (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) posted a personal-best mark of 45.68 meters in the hammer throw to finish seventh overall in the event. The throw shattered her previous best of 42.90 meters she established at the 2016 Maroon and Gold Invitational and puts her in prime position to compete for a podium spot at the conference championships next month.
On the track, senior
Carli Dedics (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) ran a personal-best time of 12.46 in the 100-meter dash to place fifth overall and become a new qualifier in the distance. Her previous best time in the race was 12.58 at last year's PSAC Outdoor Championships. Joining Dedics as a new qualifer on the track was freshman
Autumn Kaminski (Mountain Top, Pa./Holy Redeemer) who placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.71. Her prior best time was 16.29 at last weekend's Bucknell Outdoor Classic.
The Huskies will head to Bucknell University on Saturday, April 21, to compete in the Bucknell Team Challenge. Action is scheduled to get underway at 11:00 a.m.
