STORYLINE
Bloomsburg will be looking to snap a four-match losing streak when it travels to Mercyhurst on Friday afternoon followed by a home match against West Chester on Sunday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium. The Lakers are coming off back-to-back 2-2 ties against Seton Hill and West Chester, respectively, while the Huskies have been outscored, 11-1, over the last four contests after starting the season with back-to-back shutout victories. West Chester is coming off a win against the University of the District of Columbia and will play Pitt-Johnstown on Friday, at home, before taking on Bloomsburg.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg is 1-17 lifetime against the Lakers. Last season, Mercyhurst handed the Huskies a 3-1 loss at Steph Pettit Stadium with Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) scoring the only Bloomsburg goal off an assist from Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York). The Huskies are 17-20-7 lifetime against the Golden Rams. In last season's contest, West Chester defeated Bloomsburg, 4-1, in which the Huskies were outshot 22-2. The lone Bloomsburg goal came from Matt Goodall (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) off an assist from Luckenbaugh.
 
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
After starting the season with back-to-back shutout victories at Shepherd (August 30) and at home against Bloomfield (September 1), the Huskies have dropped each of their last four matches and have been outscored, 11-1, in the process. Bloomsburg saw its winless streak reach four with a 2-0 loss to visiting Gannon last Saturday afternoon. Junior Tyler Madeira (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) has scored the Huskies' only goal over the last four games - a penalty kick tally with 18 minutes left in regulation against Shaw. It was his first goal of the season and second goal of his career. Sophomore Thomas King (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) continues to lead the Huskies in scoring with a goal and an assist for three points. All of his damage came in the season-opening victory at Shepherd. Madeira, senior Kevin Rodriguez (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), and junior Matt Goodall (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) have also scored goals for the Huskies while junior Mike Bazadona III (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and sophomores Lael Cherry (Gros Islet, St. Lucia/Castries Comprehensive) and Carter Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Central York) have each posted an assist on the young season. King and Rodriguez have the game-winning goals for the Huskies. In goal, sophomore Trey Orner (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) has started four matches and is 2-3 with a 1.80 goals against average and a .710 save percentage. He was named the PSAC Co-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, September 4. Orner is tied for the PSAC lead in shutouts and is sixth in the conference in saves per game (4.40). Sophomore Brock Gould (York, Pa./Red Lion) made his first start of the season in the loss against Gannon and turned aside seven Golden Knight shots
 
SCOUTING MERCYHURST
The Lakers began their season with a win over Northern Michigan but then the lost their next game against Notre Dame (Ohio). Mercyhurst then followed with a victory over Goldey-Beacom which led to the start of PSAC conference play in which they posted back-to-back 2-2 ties against Seton Hill and West Chester, respectively. Hady Sarr leads the Lakers in scoring with four goals for eight points. He is tied for third in the conference in goals and tied for sixth in the league in points. Connor Wilkinson and Henri Tophoven follow with each scoring a goal and recording two assists for four points. Alex Garcia Piles and Mats Kreek have also notched goals for the Lakers this season. Martin Jarc has started all five games for Mercyhurst and has posted a record of 2-1-2. He has a 1.29 goals against average and a .741 save percentage with one shutout on the year. He ranks in the top ten in the league in goals against average, save percentage, shutouts, and saves per game.

SCOUTING WEST CHESTER (plays against Pitt-Johnstown on Friday)
The Golden Rams started their season with a win, loss, and a tie before starting conference play with a victory over East Stroudsburg and a tie against Mercyhurst. In its last game, West Chester knocked off the University of the District of Columbia in overtime, 1-0, with Kyle Hoops scoring the game winner. It was his second goal of the season and his first game-winner. The Golden Rams are lead in scoring by Jason Pixley with three goals for six points. He is currently tied for the PSAC lead in game-winning goals with two. Hoops is second on the team with two goals for four points. Pixley and Hoops have combined to score all five goals for the Golden Rams. Defensively, West Chester has allowed only three goals through its first six matches. Will Marshall and James Wood have split time in net for West Chester, with each starting three games. Wood is 1-1-1 with a 0.34 goals against average and a .900 save percentage. Marshall is 2-0-1 with a 0.56 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. He leads the PSAC in goals against average and save percentage while tying for first in the league in shutouts (2).
