STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University women's volleyball team will be searching for its first conference victories in program history when it heads to West Chester on Friday night and Millersville on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies have lost four straight to drop to 4-9 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC Central. The Golden Rams suffered their first loss of the season, at Gannon, last Saturday which snapped a 14-match winning streak to start the year. Millersville, which plays Lock Haven on Friday night, lost both matches last weekend at Gannon and Mercyhurst to fall to 7-6 on the year.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg enters the weekend with four consecutive losses to drop it to 4-9 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC Central Division. Last weekend, the Huskies hosted the program's first-ever conference matches but suffered a pair of straight-set losses to IUP on Friday and Clarion on Saturday. The Huskies come in ranked third in the PSAC in digs per set (19.26) and seventh in service aces per set (1.76). Bloomsburg, however, is 15th in the league in hitting percentage (.114) and is allowing opponents to hit .190 on the year - tied for 14th in the conference. Redshirt senior
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll Catholic) leads the team in kills with 164 and ranks second on the team in digs with 130. She is tied for the conference lead in kills per set (4.00) and is fourth in the PSAC in points per set (4.18). She recorded the 1,000th kill of her collegiate career at California on September 15 and is 113 digs away from reaching the same milestone in that category. Freshman
Mary Kate Mooney (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) missed last weekend but still ranks second on the team with 101 kills and third in digs with 105. Freshman
Emma Van Arsdale (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) serves as the team's primary setter and leads with 357 assists. She is tenth in the league in assists per set (8.71) and ranks third in the conference in aces per set (0.56) as she leads the team with 23 service aces. Defensively, freshman
Mia Nicholes (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) leads the team with 17 total blocks while sophomore
Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) is tops on the squad with 283 digs. She averages 6.74 digs per set - third in the conference.

SCOUTING WEST CHESTER
West Chester comes into Friday night's contest with a 14-1 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the PSAC Southeast Division. The Golden Rams rattled off 14 straight wins to start the year but dropped their first match of the season last Saturday at nationally-ranked Gannon. West Chester is second in the PSAC in hitting percentage (.248) while limiting opponents to an .092 clip – second-lowest in the conference. The team also ranks in the top five in the league in kills per set (13.39), blocks per set (1.80), and service aces (105). Four Golden Rams have reached triple digits in kills led by Julia Vreeswyk with 134. Allie Duffy is second with 120 and hits a whopping .449 on the year – tops in the PSAC by a wide margin. Rachel Robb (113) and Abbie Dischert (100) have also hit the century mark. Jillian Grammer serves as the main setter and has 564 assists on the year which puts her fifth in the league in assists per set (10.54). Defensively, Grace Whitney leads the team with 49 total blocks while Nicki Yates is tops on the team with 281 digs.
SCOUTING MILLERSVILLE
Millersville, which hosts Lock Haven on Friday, enters the weekend on a two-match losing streak, after dropping both league contests at Gannon and Mercyhurst last Friday and Saturday, to fall to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the PSAC Southeast. The Marauders are tied for fifth in the league in hitting percentage at .208 and are fifth in the conference in service aces per set at 1.83. Lindsey Blevins and Jayci Suseland are the big hitters for Millersville as they have totaled 166 and 163 kills respectively and have accounted for 58.4% of the team's 563 kills. The duo is seventh and eighth in the league in kills per set on the season. Katie Laughman has posted a team-high 437 assists which puts her eighth in the conference in assists per set (9.30). Suseland is also the team leader in blocks with 29 while Kat Forry is tops with 203 digs. Laughman ranks second on the team with 125.
UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will return to the Nelson Field House on Tuesday, October 2, for its first inter-divisional match of the season against Lock Haven University. The Huskies will then host Kutztown University on Friday, October 5, and East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, October 6. Start time for all three matches next week are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
