HISTORY
Back in March of 2017, Bloomsburg University announced that it was adding women's volleyball as a varsity sport and, three months later, the school hired
Dan Kreiger to be the program's first varsity coach. Prior to coming to Bloomsburg, Kreiger spent five seasons – the last four as the head coach – at Lock Haven University from 2011-15. In his four seasons as the head coach at Lock Haven, Kreiger guided the Bald Eagles to an 88-49 overall record and a 55-30 mark against PSAC opponents. Under Kreiger, Lock Haven qualified for the PSAC Tournament in each of his four years at the helm and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2012. The program earned PSAC Eastern Division regular season titles in 2012 and 2014 and was the tournament runner-up in 2012.
The inaugural roster features 28 student-athletes broken up into 23 freshmen, two transfers, and three former members of the Bloomsburg club team. One of the transfers, redshirt senior outside hitter
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll Catholic), played three seasons at Lock Haven University - two under Kreiger's tutelage - and earned All-PSAC East Second Team honors as a true freshman and then was named to the All-PSAC East First Team during her sophomore season. Gomish totaled 867 kills and 757 digs in her three years with the Bald Eagles. The other transfer, sophomore defensive specialist
Alyssa Cianciulli (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II), appeared in 29 matches as a true freshman at Division I LaSalle University and led the explorers with 37 service aces while finishing third on the team with 224 digs.
Sophomore outside hitter
Kate Lindholm (Enola, Pa./Trinity), junior defensive specialist
Riley McSorley (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley), and senior middle blocker
Jordann Seasock (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) played with the club team at Bloomsburg before joining the varsity roster. Seasock actually started her collegiate career at East Stroudsburg University and saw limited action with the Warriors as a true freshman.
Last month, the Huskies were picked to finish fourth in the PSAC Central Division and, on August 13, the team held its first official practice.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies opened the program's history with a 1-3 record at the Walsh University Tournament this past weekend, earning their first victory against Virginia Union on Friday, August 31. The other three matches saw Bloomsburg lose in straight, but competitive, sets to Grand Valley State, Walsh, and Adelphi. Gomish and freshman
Sydney Buell (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) were named to the All-Tournament Team. Over the course of the four matches, Gomish led the Huskies with 42 kills while finishing third with 31 digs. She hit a team-high .211 over the weekend. Buell, meanwhile, had 29 kills, five aces, 18 digs, and two block assists. Bloomsburg also had solid contributions, in particular, from Cianciulli and freshmen
Emma Van Arsdale (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and
Mary Kate Mooney (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II). Cianciulli totaled 69 digs and is currently fifth in the PSAC in digs per set (5.31). Mooney posted 37 kills and 36 digs in the four matches while Van Arsdale led the way with 87 assists.
