STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team moved up 12 places to #9 Â in the national rankings as released by the United Soccer Coaches and are looking to extend their eight-game win streak to nine as they host Shippensburg in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East contest, Wednesday evening. The Huskies knocked of their second-straight top-10 ranked opponent with a 2-1 win over Millersville last Saturday. The Marauders were ranked sixth at the time. Shippensburg is coming off a 3-2 overtime win over Mansfield last Saturday.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Marauders, 46-23-1 and have own the previous three meetings, including a 2-1 victory in Shippensburg on September 18 of this year.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies posted a pair of wins last week over two top-10 teams to improve to 10-1 on the year and 8-1 in the PSAC East. Bloomsburg jumped 12 spots in the latest United Soccer Coaches DII Women's Poll to #9. Â In the conference, Bloomsburg currently sits at the top spot, tied with Millersville at 8-. The Huskies are fifth in the PSAC in scoring, averaging 2.36 goals per game while their defense tops the conference list with a 0.36 GAA. Leading the Huskies offense is
Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) with six goals this season and is sixth in the PSAC. Hoelke is also tied for second in the league with five assists for 17 points this season.
Nicole Varano (Mt. Carmel, Pa./Mt. Carmel) is second tied for second in the league with three game-winning goals. The Huskies defense has been tenacious this season and has allowed just four goals in 11 games. Bloomsburg's defense has allowed just 84 shots with only 36 of the shots coming on goal. Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood). Hawkins has played in and started every game this season for the Huskies and boasts a 0.37 GAA average. Hawkins is first in the conference in GAA and needed just 31 saves to complete six shutouts so far this year. Hawkins also ranks second in the conference in shutouts (6) and has 25 for her collegiate career as she trails only Amy Linn (1992-95), who finished with 27, and Frances Nicoletti (2008-11), who totaled 26, on the school's all-time list.
SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
Shippensburg enters the contest with a 5-6 overall record and a 3-6 slate in the PSAC East after a 3-2 overtime win against Mansfield snapped a three-game losing streak for the  Raiders. The  Raiders are 12
th in the PSAC in scoring, averaging 1.36 goals per game and are led by Izzy Weigel who has four goals and three assists on the year for 11 points. K.K. O'Donnell and Lauren Oker each have two goals and two assists for Shippensburg. Defensively, the  Raiders are 12
th in the conference with a 1.73 GAA. Delaney Shifflett is third in the conference with 71 saves this year, averaging 6.45 saves per game. Shifflett has a 1.80 GAA as she has played in and started every game for the  Raiders this season.

Bloomsburg continues its brief home stand as the Huskies host Mansfield in a PSAC East contest on Saturday, October 19 at 4:30 p.m. Mansfield is currently 1-10 on the year and 1-8 conference play after dropping a 3-2 overtime game to Shippensburg last Saturday.
