Women's Soccer Picked Third in Preseason PSAC Coaches' Poll

2026 PSAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

Women's Soccer | 8/12/2026 4:37:00 PM

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's soccer team was selected to finish third in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon.

The Huskies received one first-place vote in the poll, which was voted on by the league's head coaches. West Chester earned seven first-place votes to claim the top spot, followed by Kutztown in second. Bloomsburg was picked third ahead of defending PSAC champion Shepherd, Millersville, East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg and Mansfield.

Bloomsburg enters the 2026 campaign following its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last seven seasons. The Huskies finished 10-7-2 overall and 7-5-2 in PSAC East action last fall, finishing fourth in the division and earning an at-large selection to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Bloomsburg has also qualified for the PSAC Tournament in 10 consecutive seasons.
Head coach Matt Haney returns an experienced group in 2026, including several of the Huskies' leading offensive contributors from a season ago.

Senior Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) headlines the returners after earning All-PSAC East Second Team honors in 2025. Krasnai finished the season with two goals and three assists. Fellow seniors Daryn Savage (Bensalem, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and Olivia Thompson (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) also return after ranking among Bloomsburg's leading scorers. Savage led the Huskies with five goals and added an assist, while Thompson recorded four goals and three assists.

The Huskies also bring back significant experience throughout the lineup. Seniors Sydney Donovan (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink), Brooke Coco (Blackwood, N.J./Paul VI), Beth Stephens (Lacey Township, N.J./Marine Academy of Technology), Laci Bell (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point), Anna Dalesandro (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser), Lindsey Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia), Makayla Lear (Orangeville, Pa./Benton Area) and Kennedie Huber (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) are among the veteran returners on the 2026 roster.

Bloomsburg showed its ability to compete with the top teams in the division throughout the 2025 campaign. The Huskies opened the year 5-0 before battling West Chester to a 1-1 draw and Shepherd to a 2-2 tie. Bloomsburg also swept the regular-season series against Millersville and Shippensburg and earned a home victory over East Stroudsburg.

Haney added seven newcomers to the program for the 2026 season with Jordan Andrews (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood), Kelsey Beatie (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink), Whitney Evancho (Hockessin, Del./Saint Marks), Niamh Fanning (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock), Kayla Kennelly (White Haven, Pa./PA Cyber Charter), Ella Moore (Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) and Meghan Shannon (Logan Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) joining the Huskies. The group includes four Pennsylvania natives, two from Delaware and one from New Jersey.

The incoming class features a decorated group at the scholastic and club levels. Beatie arrives after twice earning Delaware State Player of the Year and All-America honors, while Evancho was a four-time First Team All-State selection and earned 2026 Conference Player of the Year and Regional All-America recognition. Andrews was a 2025 All-State selection and finished her career at Crestwood as the program's all-time leading scorer with 122 goals.

Bloomsburg faces an immediate test to begin the regular season, hosting preseason favorite West Chester at Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 3 p.m. The matchup opens both the regular season and PSAC East play for the Huskies. Bloomsburg's 17-match regular-season slate features eight contests at Steph Pettit Stadium.

The 2026 PSAC Women's Soccer Championship begins Oct. 31, with the semifinals and championship match scheduled for Nov. 6 and 8.
