STORYLINE
The ninth-ranked Bloomsburg University women's soccer team hosts Mansfield on Saturday, October 19 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action. The Huskies pushed their season winning streak to nine games on Wednesday as they defeated Shippensburg, 4-1, at Steph Pettit Stadium. Bloomsburg enters the contest on Saturday 11-1 on the year and 9-1 in PSAC East action. The Mountaineers enter the game with a 1-10 overall record and an in-conference record of 1-8. Mansfield dropped a 5-1 decision to Lock Haven University last Saturday.

The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Mountaineers 19-2-2. Bloomsburg has won the previous 10 meetings, including a 3-0 victory earlier this season. During the 10-game run, the Huskies have outscored the Mountaineers 22-2 and have eight shutouts in that span.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies pushed their season-win streak to nine game after a 4-1 victory over Shippensburg last Wednesday. Bloomsburg has outscored its opponents 30-5 this season, including seven shutouts. The Huskies are fourth in the league in scoring, averaging 2.5 goals a game while they are tied for first in the league with a 0.42 goals against average. The high-powered Huskies offense is junior

Nicole Varano (Mt. Carmel, Pa./Mt. Carmel) with six goals each, good enough for sixth and seventh in the conference. Hoelke is fifth in the league with five assists as well. Junior
Maggie McDonald (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) has chipped in four goals and a pair of assists for 10 points this year. As a team, the Huskies have seen 11 different players find the back of the net this season and 15 players record at least one point. Defensively, Bloomsburg have allowed just 7.7 shots per game and 41 total shots on goal. The defensive unit is led by junior
Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) in net for the Huskies. Hawkins has played in and started every game this season for the Huskies and boasts a 0.42 GAA average. Hawkins is first in the conference in GAA and needed just 34 saves to complete six shutouts so far this year. Hawkins also ranks second in the conference in shutouts (6) and has 25 for her collegiate career as she trails only Amy Linn (1992-95), who finished with 27, and Frances Nicoletti (2008-11), who totaled 26, on the school's all-time list.

SCOUTING MANSFIELD
Mansfield enters Saturday's contest with a 1-10 overall record and a 1-8 slate in the PSAC East. The Mountaineers fell to Lock Haven on Saturday, 5-1, and currently have a four-game losing streak. Mansfield is led offensively by Cay McNichol who has six points on the year behind three goals. Olivia Bowman leads the Mountaineers with a pair of assists this season. Defensively, Stephanie Moir has played in 10 games making nine starts for Mansfield in goal. Moir has a 3.26 GAA and a .782 save percentage. Moir is 1-10 on the year with one shutout and has 112 saves for the seasons. Mansfield lone win on the season came on September 28 when the Mountaineers defeated Shepherd, 1-0.

Bloomsburg hits the road for a two-game road trip as the Huskies head to Shepherd on a Wednesday for a mid-afternoon PSAC East matchup at 1:00 p.m. before heading to Lock Haven on Saturday, October 26 for a 2:30 p.m. conference showdown against the Bald Eagles.
