THE STORY

The women have played in three dual matches this fall and are 3-0 overall while men 0-2 on the season. The Senators come in with a 3-0 record on the women's side and an 1-0 mark in men's action.

THE HUSKIES AT A GLANCE
The women's tennis team continues to roll as it went 2-0 last week with 6-1 victories over Clarion and Edinboro. Men's tennis swept St. Mount Mary's in a scrimmage last weekend by a score of 7-0.

Luna Bernardi clinched the win for the Huskies last weekend as she earned the fourth point for Bloomsburg with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Bernardi and her partner senior Cassidy Calimer (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Absegami) picked up the win at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, as well. Calimer earned a win in singles as well as she took the No. 2 match 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 doubles, the sister duo of senior Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and freshman Sarah Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) earned a hard-fought 6-4 win to clinch the doubles point for Bloomsburg.

Junior Giovanna Bonito (Pindamonhangaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Reino) won at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1 to help the Huskies to the 6-1 match win. Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) dropped the first set at No.1 single 6-2, but came back to win the second 6-2 before dropping the tiebreak 13-11.

The men's tennis team swept visiting Mount St. Mary's in a fall scrimmage, Friday afternoon behind three tie-break match wins in singles action. Guille Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Colegio Calasancio Hispalense) and Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Colegio Alemán de Málaga (Spain)) won at No.2 doubles 6-3 while Scott Redmond () and Jorge Barra (Sintra, Portugal/Carlucci American International School of Lisbon) took the No. 3 doubles match 6-2 to give Bloomsburg the 1-0 advantage after doubles.
Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) rebounded from a first set 6-4 loss to take the second set 6-4 and win the tie break, 10-6. Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) also needed a tie break to win at No. 2 singles as he dropped the first set 6-3 and won the second 6-3 before winning the tie break, 10-4. Wiesemann defeated his No. 3 singles opponent 6-7, 6-4 (10-5) for the third match win on a tie break for the Huskies.

Carranza picked up the win at No. 4 singles thanks to a 6-2 first set win and retirement. Redmond needed a 7-5 win the second set to avoid a tie break after winning the first set 6-3 at No. 5 singles. Barra rolled at No. 6 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win.

The women have been equally good this season as it enters with a 3-0 overall record. The Senators have won three straight matches and are coming off a 3-2 win from last week at Hollins Invitational, playing in a modified format, with each team entering two doubles teams and three singles players, players only able to play one event per match.

On the men's side, the Senators enters with an overall 1-0 record, coincidentally winning 7-0 last weekend against Shepherd University. This was the first win for the Senators over Shepherd since a 7-2 win in March of 2010.
