ORLANDO, FL - Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) won a pair of matches on the day including a three-set victory at #1 singles, but the Bloomsburg University men's tennis team came up just short in a 4-3 loss to Bentley University Tuesday in Orlando.

Pedrotti would knot the team match at 3-3 with just one singles outcome yet to be determined with an impressive 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 win over Dylan Granat in the lead singles position. It was the second win of the match for the sophomore, who teamed with Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Rogedo) to take down Granat and Michael Fuca 6-2 at #1 doubles.

Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) and Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Colegio de La Asuncion Malaga) later would secure the doubles point for the Huskies with a 6-3 win over Nicholas Hatcher and Mauricio Fadul Rubod at #3, while Bentley's Alexander Novins and Connor Aulson defeated Guille Carranza (Sevilla, Spain/Escolapios) and Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) 6-1 at #2 doubles.

The match came down to #3 singles, where Carranza jumped out to an early lead over Aulson with a 6-3 win in the first set. Aulson took the second set 6-4, and would lock up the victory for the Falcons with a 10-8 third-set win.

Danny Weitz (6-3, 7-5) was also victorious for Bentley at #2 singles, while Jose Vera Dalla Valle rallied from a dropped first set to defeat Luetzig 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 at #6. Kendal Au was the fourth Falcon to earn a singles point with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Walle at #5. Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, Pa./Nazareth Area) was Bloomsburg's only player other than Pedrotti to claim victory in the singles competition, downing Brett Gilman 6-4-6-2 at #4.

The Huskies will continue their string of matches at the USTA National Campus in Orlando tomorrow afternoon against Dickinson. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
