Men's Tennis | 4/7/2019 5:39:00 PM

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) notched a pair of wins on the day as the Bloomsburg University men's tennis team defeated Shepherd University 4-0 Sunday afternoon. The Huskies have now won three straight matches, and improve to 5-4 overall on the season.

Luetzig and Oliver Wiesemann (Jena, Germany/Colegio de La Asuncion Malaga) would get the scoring started early with a 6-1 win over Kaleb Lochner and Ryan Cox at #2 doubles, and a 6-4 win for Lucas Pedrotti (Caxias do Sul, Brazil/Sao Jose) and Bernardo Abreu (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Rogedo) over Carter Davis and Evan Dokken at #1 would complete the doubles sweep for Bloomsburg.

Luetzig continued his strong day with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lochner at #3 singles, and Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) clinched the Huskies win with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Cox at #4 singles. Quin Bucheit (Shoemakersville, Pa./Hamburg) led NIcholas Ferony 6-0, 2-1 in the second set at #5 singles, but the match was not completed.

The Huskies return to the court this Friday, April 12, for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) battle with Edinboro. First serve from the Burt Reese Tennis Center is set for 4:00 p.m.
