BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University men's swimming team posted 29 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship meet cuts Friday night despite falling to Penn State University, 120.5-73.5.

The Huskies picked up seven PSAC cuts in a crowded 50-yard freestyle race, led by redshirt senior
Kyle Dix (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) with a second-place finish. Dix swam his second-fasted race of the season with a time of 21.17 to take second and earn four points for the Huskies. Dix has an NCAA 'B' in the race as he posted a time of 20.63 earlier this season at the Zippy Invitational. Sophomore
Colton Schnars (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) joined Dix with a PSAC time of 21.40 and tied for third. Junior
Collin Hummel (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) earned a point for the Huskies as he touched the wall at 21.48 with his PSAC qualifying swim.

Sophomore
Pat Agnew (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) swam a time of 21.82 in an exhibition swim in the 50 free and freshman

Tyler Reed (Hereford, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) touched the wall at 22.34 and sophomoreÂ
Jace Fry (Palmyra, Pa./Lower Dauphin) rounded out the PSAC qualifiers with a time of 22.39.

The 100-yard freestyle was full of PSAC qualifiers as well with senior
Jordan Wyant (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) leading the charge. Wyant took fourth overall as he touched the wall at 47.42 while Hummel took sixth with a time of 48.05. Freshman
Luke Emig (Horsham, PA/Hatboro - Horsham) (49.04), Agnew (49.15), freshman
Ryan Keenan (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) (49.63), and junior
Chris Gleason (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (49.65) rounded out the PSAC qualifiers for the Huskies.

Dix earned his second PSAC time of the meet as he finished third overall in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.48 and Fry joined Dix in the PSAC championship meet with a time of 51.72 as he took sixth.

The Huskies post four PSAC times in the 100-yard backstroke and were led by Schnars with a time of 51.74, third overall. Senior
Corey Smith (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) took sixth with a time of 54.03 and freshman
Blake Nesbitt (Wind Gap, PA/Nazareth) just missed a scoring spot with a time of 54.64. Freshman
Tucker Ball (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) swam a time of 55.08 to earn a spot in the PSAC championship meet as well.

Nesbitt led a foursome of swimmers with PSAC times in the 100-yard breaststroke as he won with a time of 1:00.40. Redshirt junior
Matt Rocchi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) came in second with a time of 1:00.56. Junior
Noah Cancro (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) took third with a time of 1:00.93 while Gleason posted a time of 1:01.46.

Freshman
Luke Scoboria (Birdsboro, PA/Exeter) led the Huskies in the 1,000-yard freestyle as he picked up a PSAC qualifying time of 10:17.04. Smith was right on his heels with a fifth-place time of 10:17.17. Keenan rounded out the Huskies qualifiers with a time of 10:21.16 to take sixth overall.

Wyant earned his second PSAC time of the meet with a time of 1:46.24 and took sixth overall with a time of 1:46.24. Cancro took sixth overall as well in the 200-yard IM as he earned a PSAC time of 1:59.17. Scoboria earned a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifying time of 4:57.27.

The Huskies opened the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:36.25. Nesbitt led off the race followed by Rocchi and Fry in the middle to legs before Cancro anchored the race with a time of 21.30 in the freestyle.

Bloomsburg wrapped up the meet with a first-place time of 1:24.56 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Schnars led off the race with a 21.52 opening leg while Dix anchored the race with a time of 20.25 in the final 50 yards.

The Huskies get back in the pool on January 31 as they head to the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational, hosted by IUP, for a two-day meet.
