Box Score MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team fell to Salem University in a close match, 4-3, Friday evening. The Huskies fell to 2-4 on the year while the Tigers opened the season 1-0.
 
Bloomsburg earned the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead in the match. Oliver Wiessemann and Scott Redmond () won at No. 2 Doubles, 6-4, while Nagid Walle (Willemstad, Curacao/Saint Andrews (Fla.)) and Robin Luetzig (Hadamar, Germany/Furst Johann Ludwig Schule) clinched the doubles point as they battled for a 7-5 win at No. 1 Doubles.
 
Walle took the first set off of Gianfranco Germinara 6-4, but Germinara battled back to even the match 6-3 and win the No. 1 singles match with a 6-2 win in set three. The Tigers then won No. 2 singles and No. 3 singles to pull ahead, 3-1, before Wiessemann fell to Jose Marino 6-2, 6-4, at No. 4 singles to clinch the win for the Tigers. Jorge Barra (Sintra, Portugal/Carlucci American International School of Lisbon) won at No. 5 singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, and Chris Kocon (Mountain Top, Pa./Holy Redeemer) won at No. 6 in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets.
 
The Huskies have little time to rest as they hit the court at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 29 as they square off against West Virginia Wesleyan.
