BLOOMSBURG, Pa. –  Senior Hunter Jarratt (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) finished fifth overall as the Bloomsburg University cross country team hit the course for the first time during the 2020-21 school year against Lock Haven in the Bloomsburg Dual, Saturday afternoon. The two teams competed in a 4K race on a cold and blustery day on the campus of Bloomsburg.
 
Jarratt paced all Huskies for the entire race and turned in a career-best 13:43.00 in a 4K race. Not far behind Jarratt was junior Kevin Konyar (Winchester, Va./James Wood) who took eighth overall with another career-best for the Huskies of 14:03.0. Running in their first collegiate races, freshmen Aidan Skinner (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) and Michael Gavio (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) finished ninth and 11^th, respectively. Skinner ran a 14:05 while Gavio crossed the finish line at 14:08.
 
Senior Chris McCormick (Ashland, Pa./North Schuylkill) also completed the 4K in a career-best time as he came in 12^th overall with a time of 14:12.00. Freshman Ryan Duff (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) was the sixth Husky across the finish line as he captured 13^th overall with a time of 14:24.00. Fellow first-year runner Matthew Carroll (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) rounded out the scoring Huskies as he finished 15^th overall with a time of 14:34.
 
Freshman Brayden Graham (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) narrowly missed scoring in his first collegiate race as he took 16^th overall with a time of 14:37.00. Freshman Matthew Campbell (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) ran a 14:44 and took 17^th for Bloomsburg. Sophomore Justin Ziegler (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) finished 18^th overall with a career-best time in a 4K of 14:45.0.
 
Rounding out the runners for the Huskies were freshmen Parker Jarratt (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) in 20^th with a time of 15:05 and Gabriel McKittrick (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton Area) with a time of 15:16.
 
The Huskies will have next weekend off to prepare for the 2021 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship meet. The meet is scheduled for March 20 on the campus of Lock Haven University.
