BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season in dramatic fashion as they knocked off the previously undefeated and 20
th- ranked Seton Hill 14-8 in the regular season finale for both teams. With the win, the Huskies improved to 8-5 on the year while the Griffins dropped to 12-1 for the season.

Senior
Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made history in the win as she recorded her 100
th career goal with her final strike of the afternoon. Bergman needs just nine goals to jump into the top-15 at BU. She also has 121 points in her career as a Husky.

Bergman led the team with six goals and an assist while junior
Abby Kalish (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) had a pair of goals and three draw controls. Junior
Kelsey Kilgallon (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and freshman
Cassidy Griffin (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) finished the day with a goal and a pair of assists each while sophomore
Annie Rollins (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) had three assists on the day.

Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) had a stellar day on defense as she came away with a career-best seven caused turnovers and picked up for ground balls. As a team, the Huskies caused 20 of the Griffin's 26 turnovers for the game. Graduate student
Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) caused three turnovers and picked up a season-best seven ground balls.

DiPasquale made won her eighth game of the season with eight saves in net for Bloomsburg.

The Huskies and Griffins were tied 7-7 at the half after a back-and-forth first 30 minutes. Bloomsburg turned on the jets in the second half and out-scored Seton Hill 7-1 in the second half. Griffin opened the scoring in the second with her sixth goal of the season to break the 7-7 tie 4:19 into action. Bergman followed up with her 36
th of the year and second of the game to expend the Huskies lead to 9-7.

After just under 12 minutes of scoreless action, the Huskies piled on to break open the game. Bergman and freshman
Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) went back-to-back thanks to a pair of assists from Rollins to give BU an 11-7 lead. Bergman stretched the lead to with a pair of goals to 13-7 before Seton Hill got its final tally of the game with 2:22 to play.

Bergman scored her milestone goal with 1:19 to play on a low shot as she was falling down to seal the 14-8 win.

In the first half, Roberts and senior
Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) scored back-to-back goals in the first three minutes of action for the 2-0 Husky lead before Seton Hill cut the lead down to one, 2-1. Bergman and Kilgallon scored a pair of goals before the Griffins came back to cut into the lead once again with two of their own to make it 4-3 with 19:59 to play.

The two teams went goal-for-goal with the next goals as Bloomsburg maintained its two goal lead, 7-5, with 3:41 left before the break. Seton Hill tied the game with a pair of goals in the final 3:30 as they two teams went into the break knotted at 7-7.

The Griffins held the 17-7 advantage in draw controls and a slight 25-24 advantage in shots. The Huskies held a 25-17 advantage in ground balls and were 25-30 on clear attempts.

The Huskies will now travel to East Stroudsburg for the opening round of the 2021 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament. The Huskies earned the No. 3 seed while the Warriors are the No. 2 seed. The two teams will square off on Saturday, May 1 and the opening draw is set for 1:00 pm.
