LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Three Huskies garnered All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honors for the Bloomsburg University baseball team as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Redshirt junior
Kyle OFier (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) led the trio with first team honors while redshirt juniors
Carter Chasanov (Magnolia, Del./Polytech) and
Ben Newbert (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Harriton) were selected to the second team as voted on by the conference head coaches.

OFier is a first-time all-conference honoree in the infield after a stellar 2021 regular season. He is currently hitting .331 with eight home runs, 40 runs batted in, and 40 hits going in PSAC championship weekend. He is just five hits and four RBIs shy of his career highs. OFier opened the season with a nine-game hitting streak, during which he saw hit batting average climb to as high as .667. OFier is second on the team in batting average and leads the club with 10 doubles, eight home runs, and 40 RBIs. He leads the team with 11 multi-RBI games, including seven with three RBIs. During conference play, OFier finished third in the PSAC with 35 RBIs and was eighth in both home runs (8) and at bats (106). At second, OFier had 59 assists and a .917 fielding percentage while turning 11 double plays. OFier provided the fireworks with a pair of walk-off hits in the home doubleheader against Mansfield on April 18. He had an RBI single to walk off game one before blasting a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to complete the sweep with a 4-1 victory in the night cap.

Also earning his first all-conference accolades in Chasanov as a second-team outfielder. Chasanov has been one of the more consistent forces at the plate for the Huskies as he leads the team with a .361 batting average going into championship weekend. He leads the team with 44 hits and 36 runs scored while he is fourth on the squad with 24 RBIs. He is slugging .598 for the year with a .455 on-base percentage. During conference play, Chasanov was 12
th in the league with a .383 batting average and fourth with 41 hits. Chasanov leads the team with 13 multi-hit games and had a 10-game hitting streak mid-way through the season. He opened the year reaching base safely in the Huskies' first 23 games. He is tied for second on the team with eight doubles and seven home runs. His home run total is a career-best for the redshirt junior. Chasanov has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in center for Bloomsburg with a pair of outfield assists.

Rounding out the all-conference selections for BU is Newbert with his first all-conference nod as the second team designated hitter. Newbert is hitting .289 for the season with 26 hits, 17 runs, and 16 RBIs as the designated hitter. Newbert ended the regular season with a .329 batting average. He hit four home runs and seven doubles this season in 26 starts for the Huskies. Newbert has six multi-hit games, three multi-RBI games, and a five-game hitting streak under his belt this season.

The Huskies are currently 21-15 on the season and after upsetting the No. 1 seed in the East Millersville earlier this week, look to defend their PSAC crown this weekend at Seton Hill. The Griffins are the top seed in the West and are 34-4 on the year. The two teams will play in a best of three series with the winning earning PSAC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
