LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After contributing a strong performance at the plate in a 5-0 week for Bloomsburg, Grant Russo (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week by the league office on Monday afternoon.
 
Grant Russo (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area) went 8-for-16 at the plate while recording nine runs and three RBIs for Bloomsburg as the Huskies went 5-0 on the week.
 
The redshirt-sophomore tallied three multi-hit games and posted a pair of doubles and a home run. Russo's week kicked off with a 2-for-4 performance in road bout with Pitt-Johnstown that saw the centerfielder post a solo home run.
 
The Sugarloaf native tallied three stolen bases and went 2-for-3 in the opening game of the Huskies' series with Shippensburg. In total, Russo notched six stolen bases across the week. 
 
 
Russo currently leads the PSAC in stolen bases with 25. He also sits second in the conference in batting average (.466), third in on base percentage (.554) and third in runs (30).
 
The centerfielder is the first Husky to earn the Athlete of the Week honor and it is the third time a member of the baseball team has claimed a weekly award this season.
 
Bloomsburg returns to Danny Litwhiler Field on Friday, April 3 as they host East Stroudsburg in a 1 p.m. doubleheader to kick off the season series with the Warriors.
