LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's swim had a tremendous weekend at the Bucknell Invite to close out the 2022 calendar year. The Huskies collected 50 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times, four NCAA 'B' cuts, and two school records. As a team, the Huskies finished seven out of eight teams, all of which were Division I, with 266 points.
 
Senior Grace Beierschmitt (Dover, Pa./Dover) headlined the weekend for the Huskies with a pair of school records. She opened the 200-yard medley relay with a 26.42 in the 50-back to break the previous record of 26.53 set in 2016. Her time in the 50-back is the fastest this season in the PSAC. Beierschmitt led the team of her, Anna Sugra (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor), Courtney Hubric (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin), and Rylee Wenzel (West Lawn, PA/Wilson High School) to a seventh-place finish with a time of 1:47.69.
 
Beierschmitt picked up her second school record of the weekend in the 100-yard back as she took 10^th overall and second in the B final with a time of 56.39, the second-fast time in the PSAC so far. The previous record of 56.70 was set by Alex Wheatley in 2016. Wheatley held the 50-back record as well.
 
Senior Courtney Hubric (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) had her fastest time of the season in the 50-yard free as she hit an NCAA 'B' cut Friday night with a time of 23.92 and finished seventh in the A final. Hubric swam a 23.65 in the prelims, both times are an NCAA 'B' cut. Freshman Rylee Wenzel (West Lawn, PA/Wilson High School) earned her first career NCAA cut as she picked up a 'B' cut as well in the 50-free with a time of 23.50 to take first in the C Final and 17^th overall. Her time is the second-fastest in the PSAC this season.
 
Wenzel earned a B cut in the 100-yard free as well as she took 19^th overall and third in the C final with a time of 51.57, the second-fastest time in the PSAC this season.
 
The 400-yard freestyle relay team ended the meet with a splash as Sydney Lloyd (Nescopeck, Pa./Berwick), Beierschmitt, Hubric, and Wenzel took seventh overall with a time of 3:33.19, an NCAA 'B' cut.
 
The Huskies have the rest of the month of December to train before getting back to competition on January 14 at Dickinson College.
