SOFTBALL
Last Week
The softball team closed out another winning season at the NCAA Tournament's Atlantic Regional in Shippensburg over the weekend.

The Huskies fell to Shippensburg on Thursday and lost in a close, hard-fought contest to Claflin in 10 innings on Friday.

Against Claflin, the Huskies made some pivotal plays on defense in extra innings to stay alive as they were able to get out of the frame with the game-winning run on base in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings. Claflin had a leadoff double in the 10th that eventually scored the go-ahead run to win the contest. Freshmen pitchers Callie Sowers (Irwin, Pa/Hempfield Area) and Kelly Eberly (Purcellville, Va/Homeschooled) combined to limit the Panthers to just three runs and five hits through 9.1 innings, and Nicolette Ray (Abington, Pa./Abington) led the team's offense with a two-run double. Kayleigh Lenner (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) had a triple and Sammi Starr (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area), Erin DelPierre (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Danielle Barnes (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) all had two hits apiece. Bella Culp (Harrisburg, Pa/Central Dauphin) also had a hit.
