LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's track and field team had several strong performances during their outing at the Bucknell Tune Up on Friday evening in Lewisburg.
Bloomsburg's
Melissa Sicinski (Fountainville, Pa./Pennridge) had the highest placement in an individual event as she finished tied for second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.04. Her time hit a new personal record and tied with Lafayette's Maeve Waldron for second place. Bucknell's Lila Gaughan won the event with a time of 7.95. In the same event, Bloomsburg's
Sarah Castronova (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) finished seventh with a time of 8.33.
In the 200-meter dash,
Emma Kay (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone Area High School) had the fastest time of any Bloomsburg competitor as she finished in fourth place of the second heat with a PR mark of 27.54.
Delaney Porter (Pen Argyl, Pa./Penn Argyl Area) was fifth in the same heat with a time of 27.63. In the first heat,
Megan Gambogi (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was second (27.80) and Sicinski was fourth (27.70) in the third heat.
Kay also hit a PR in the 400 with a time of 1:04.20.
Kelsie Robinson (Media, Pa./Penncrest High School) also PR'd in the 400, hitting a time of 1:00.60 to finish fourth in a tightly contested race in the second heat. The second heat saw all four runners finish within 1.09 seconds from one another. Bucknell posted all top three finishers, and Colleen Linko (59.51) won the heat.
Alexia Kirk hit a PR in the 500 with her mark of 1:28.12. The time gave her a third-place finish in the first heat.
In the 800,
Julia Magee (Chalfont, Pennsylvania/Central Bucks South) hit a PR with a time of 2:33.69 and
Rachanee Tith (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) was right behind with a time of 2:36.82. Magee and Tith finished ninth and 10
th place overall in the first heat.
In the mile,
Emma Fortune (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./James M. Coughlin) PR'd with a time of 5:28.44 to place sixth, and
Gabrielle Wetzel (Manchester Township, NJ/Manchester Township) finished ninth with a tie of 5:37.78.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Bailey Corrigan (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra High School) hit a PR with a time of 10.55.
Bloomsburg's 4x400 meter relay team also had a big day, finishing second with a time of 4:10.16.
Lorelei Eberly (Downingtown, Pa./Coatesville Area High School) hit a PR in the long jump by hitting a mark of 4.96m in the first section of the event. In the second section,
Dahlia Hosey (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) placed fifth overall (5.35m) and
Devin Hubler (Minersville, Pa./Minersville Area) (5.10m) was ninth.
In the triple jump,
Sydney Beaverson (York, Pa./Red Lion) finished eighth with a mark of 10.28m.
The women's track and field team will be back in action on Saturday with the SU Tune Up at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove.
