BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Four men swimmers were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams as
Pat Agnew (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove),
Tucker Ball (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff),
Nick Fiddler (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh), and
Luke Scoboria (Birdsboro, PA/Exeter) all earned the accolade on Tuesday.
With the 2022-23 season wrapping up with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, three of these men finished up their BU swimming careers in York, Pa. just two weeks ago.
A veteran of the past five seasons, Agnew finished his final PSAC championship with two silver medal finishes in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and three consolation finals appearances.
Ball closed out a stellar career at the meet with an A-finals appearance in the 100 backstroke and a consolation final appearance in the 100 butterfly. He managed to drop significant time in both those events in each of his championship appearances. Ball was also responsible for leading the 200 medley relay to a top-five finish.
Fresh off shoulder surgery just a few months ago, Fiddler may not have had the results he wanted to end this season, after winning gold and silver in the 100 and 200 butterfly, respectively, just a season ago. The first-year captain showed resilience as he managed to come home with consolation final finishes in both the butterfly events, and he will be back with a vengeance come next season.
Scoboria crowned himself as the BU distance king this season, capping off his final year as a Husky with a bronze medal in the mile, A-final finishes in the 500 and 1000 freestyle, and a consolation final finish in the 200 freestyle. Scoboria and Agnew also combined for a valiant effort in the 800 freestyle relay, finishing fourth overall.
