BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's track and field team held its Senior Day and had a number of solid performances at the Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday at Redman Stadium.
The Huskies got the night going on the track with
Melissa Sicinski (Fountainville, Pa./Pennridge) winning the 100-meter dash with her time of 12.94. Sicinski then had a solid performance in the 200m, placing fifth overall with a time of 27.35.
Also in the 200m,
Yamilet Ferrufino (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) hit a PR and set her new career mark with a time of 28.44. Alexia Kirk hit a PR in the event with her time of 29.15, and
Bailey Corrigan (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra High School) finished right behind Kirk with a time of 30.41.
In the 100m hurdles,
Julia Magee (Chalfont, Pennsylvania/Central Bucks South) finished fifth overall and posted a time of 17.93.
Bloomsburg had an overall great performance in the 400m run as
Sarah Castronova (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) won the event after hitting a time of 58.04.
Natalya Heard (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) hit a PR and finished in second place with her mark of 58.40, and
Megan Gambogi (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) gave the Huskies their third top-five finish with her new career-best time of 59.79.
Kelsie Robinson (Media, Pa./Penncrest High School) finished sixth and hit a PR with her time of 59.91, and
Emma Kay (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone Area High School) rounded out the event with her time of 1:04.27.
Delaney Porter (Pen Argyl, Pa./Penn Argyl Area) set a new career-best time in the 400-meter hurdles as she finished sixth overall with a time of 1:07.72.
The Huskies kept their day going with another solid team event in the 800m run.
Alyssa Keeley (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) finished second overall in the event and hit a career-best time with her mark of 2:19.31. Keeley was followed by
Kelley Selheimer (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), who finished third overall and also set a PR with her time of 2:19.35. In the same event,
Brianna Dumond (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) was sixth (2:24.24).
Sarah Sweet (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prepatory) had a solid race in the 1500m run, placing third overall with a time of 5:01.98.
Emma Fortune (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./James M. Coughlin) finished sixth (5:12.95).
Nicole Keeley (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) finished second overall in the 5K as she set a new career mark with a time of 17:53.10.
Amanda Kelly (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) also PR'd in the event and finished third overall with a time of 18:02.10.
In jumping events,
Isabella Horvath (Cresco, PA/Pocono Mountain East High School) finished third in the high jump with her jump of 1.50m (4-11.00).
Dahlia Hosey (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) won the long jump and placed first with her mark of 5.24.
Devin Hubler (Minersville, Pa./Minersville Area) gave Bloomsburg another top-10 placement and finished ninth (5.19m).
During the meet, Castronova,
Sydney Derr (Fogelsville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh),
Makayla Force (Berwick, Pa./Berwick), Fortune,
Kelly Gilmore (Colmar, Pa./North Penn), Hosey,
Nicole Keeley (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy), Kirk, and Raville were honored as part of the team's Senior Day celebration.
Bloomsburg will continue the Maroon and Gold Invitational with the throwing events tomorrow afternoon at Bucknell University. The first event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.
