BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Bloomsburg men's soccer head coach
Mark Bassett recently announced the 2023 incoming class, which will feature 12 newcomers to the program next season.

The 2023 recruiting class comes from four different states and two countries, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, Florida, United States, and Canada.

The recruit class includes Tomer Yair, Liam Hartman, Owen Peri, Thomas Iskra, Ben Groseclose, Jake Pacacha, Trey Magnaye, Owen Hollobaugh, Brayden Ahlum, Daven Calderon-Perez, Gage Haniwalt, and Anthony Grguric.

The incoming class joins a Husky team that finished first on the East and hosted the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament. The Huskies finished 14-5-1 overall and 8-3-1 in the PSAC East. Coach Bassettt enters his third season at the helm of the Huskies in 2023.

Tomer Yair (Coral Spring, Fla./Marjory Stoneman Douglas)
Â
Yair comes to Bloomsburg from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Coral Springs, Fla. where served as the team captain during his senior season. In the Florida 7A District 13, Yair was named Player of the Year and led the district in goals, and assists for the 2022-23 season. He was chosen for the BCAA All-Star game and was named to the Broward County and Miami Herald 1
st Team All-Star Teams for his senior year after being an Honorable Mention as a junior. Yair played his club soccer for Parkland SC ECNL where he was a captain from 2021-2023 and was the leading goal scorer in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

Liam Hartman (Abington, Pa./Abington)
Â
Hartman comes to Bloomsburg from Abington Senior High School in Abington, Pa. and the very successful PA Dominion/FC Bucks ECNL and Lower Merion Invictus club teams. While playing club soccer Liam had the opportunity to play in 2 National Championships. As a senior at Abington Hartman earned 1
st Team All-Suburban One and Player of the Year, was named to the Pennsylvania All-State Team and recognized by the United Soccer Coaches as an East Regional All-American.

Owen Peri (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown)
Â
Peri joins Bloomsburg from Dallastown High School in Dallastown, Pa. During his sole season with Dallastown, Peri was named team captain and a YAIAA 1
st Team All-Star. During his senior season, Peri helped his team to the YAIAA Division Championship, PIAA District 3 District Final, and to the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania State Tournament. Prior to his senior season with Dallastown, Peri played exclusively with the PA Classics MLS Next team and moved the FC Ballyhoo for his final year of the club soccer.

Thomas Iskra (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wyoming Seminary)

Iskra joins Bloomsburg from Wyoming Seminary High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he was a two-time Citizens Voice and Wyoming Valley Conference Player of the Year. He was voted 2022 NEPA High School Offensive Player of the Year. During his high school career, Iskra was a two-year team captain and tallied 57 goals with 82 assists. Iskra was named to the PIAA All-State team in both 2021 and 2022, was named 1
st Team All-Wyoming Valley Conference four times and helped Wyoming Seminary to three District II Championships. Iska also played at the ODP level and was an eight-time ODP State Team selection and two-time Region 1 Champion.

Ben Groseclose (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park)
Â
Groseclose comes to Bloomsburg from Severna Park High School in Severna Park, Maryland. Groseclose played his club soccer for Maryland United SC ECNL and with the Maryland State ODP team. He played varsity soccer for Severna Park since his freshman year of high school and was a two-time VarsitySportsNetwork (VSN) and Baltimore Sun Player to Watch. In 2021, his team was Regional Champions and 4A Maryland State finalists.

Jake Pacacha (Shelton, Conn./St. Joseph)
Â
Pacacha joins Bloomsburg Men's Soccer from St. Joseph High School and is from Shelton, Conn. During his time at St. Joseph, Pacacha scored 53 career goals, was a four-year varsity starter, and the FCIAC top goal scorer. He served as captain for his team during both his junior and senior seasons and was named Connecticut All-State as a senior, All-FCIAC first team as a junior and senior, and was selected for the CSCA Senior Bowl. Pacacha's club career was played for Beachside Soccer Club of Connecticut. His club team was the 2021 Northeast Academy League Champions and in 2022, Pacacha was the leading goal scorer in the Northeast Academy League.

Trey Magnaye (Abingdon, Md./Archbishop Curley)

Magnaye joins Bloomsburg from Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, Md. and hails from Abingdon, Md. At Curley, Magnaye was a four-year varsity soccer player, and three-year starter in the very competitive Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association League. During his senior year, he served as the captain of the team. Magnaye plays his club soccer for Baltimore Celtic ECNL and also played lacrosse at Curley.

Owen Hollobaugh (State College, Pa./State College)

Hollobaugh joins Bloomsburg from State College High School in State College Pa. where he was a three-year varsity starter. In 2021, Hollobaugh was selected Mid-Penn 2nd Team All-Star. In 2022, he earned Mid-Penn 1st Team All-Star and was selected as the Mid-Penn Player of the Year. These accolades in 2022 led to his selection to the Pennsylvania All-State Team and as a United Soccer Coaches East Regional All-American. At the club level, Hollobaugh helped his club team North Union United to the US National Cup Finals in 2022.

Brayden Ahlum (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton)
Â
Brayden comes to Bloomsburg from Methacton High School and Collegeville, Pa. While at Methacton, he was a four-year starter and two-year captain, helping Methacton win their first PAC Championship. In 2022, he earned All-Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer team, First Team All-PAC, and First Team Mercury All-Area selections. At the club level, Ahlum was a six-time EPYSA State Champion, a regional champion and competed in two National Championships with the Ukrainian Nationals. In 2022, he joined Sporting Delaware ECNL and went on to win the ECNL Northeastern Conference and played in the ECNL National Championships.

Daven Calderon-Perez (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township)

Calderon-Perez joins Bloomsburg from Manheim Township High School and Lancaster, Pa. In his time at Manheim Township, Calderon-Perez helped his team to a pair of Lancaster/Lebanon League Championships in 2020 and 2022. In 2022, Calderon-Perez was named to the Lancaster/Lebanon League All-Star Second Team. He played his club soccer for Lancaster Elite.

Gage Haniwalt (Franklin, Pa./Franklin Area)

Haniwalt comes to Bloomsburg from Franklin Area High School in Franklin, Pa. In his four years at Franklin Area, Haniwalt scored 79 goals and had 53 assists, and was named the Region 4 Player of the Year. Haniwalt was also selected to the All-District Second Team, All-Region Second Team, and twice for the All-Region First Team. He played his club soccer for Pittsburgh Hotspurs and won the GLC league championship.

Anthony Grguric (Caledon East, Ontario, Canada/Case Western Reserve Academy)
Â
Grguric joins Bloomsburg from Case Western Reserve Academy in Cleveland, Ohio. At WRA he was their starting goalkeeper and holds the WRA record for most saves in a match. This past season as a senior he kept 17 clean sheets. He also received accolades academically with the CL French Award and Dean's List. Grguric plays his club soccer for Black Rock FC and is from Caledon East, Ontario Canada.
The Huskies open the season on Thursday, August 31 when they travel to Seton Hill for a 1:30 p.m. contest.
