LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - For the second consecutive week, the No. 25 Bloomsburg men's soccer team swept the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East weekly awards, revealed by the conference Monday afternoon.
Helping the Huskies go 2-0 in their first week ranked since 2021, Alex Wilsterman (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) is Athlete of the Week, and Brady Rimple (Cherryville, Pa./Northampton Area) is Defensive Athlete of the Week. Wilsterman gains his honor after anchoring the Bloomsburg midfield in both games this week, leading to 1-0 victories over East Stroudsburg and West Chester. Wilsterman's second-half goal against the Golden Rams lifted the Huskies to the first win over the PSAC East foe since 2019.
Rimple's role in net continues to be one of consistency and security after racking up another two shutouts on the season. With the two victories this week, Rimple became the first Bloomsburg men's soccer player in program history to record six shutouts in two seasons and moved into second place in team history with 17 clean sheets in his career for the Maroon & Gold.
The two victories come at a crucial point in the season, with the PSAC Tournament right around the corner. With a game in hand and the first victory over West Chester in 1837 days, the Huskies stand four points ahead atop the PSAC East standings.
The Huskies are back in action for another two conference matchups this week. The team is back on the road on Wednesday, October 23, to take on Shepherd before returning to Steph Pettit Stadium to square off with Shippensburg on Saturday, October 26.
