KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Bloomsburg women's soccer remains No. 8 in the Atlantic Region rankings per the latest unveiling from the United Soccer Coaches Tuesday afternoon.
The Huskies played one and won one in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) to improve to 8-4-2 overall and 6-4-2 in conference play. Bloomsburg earned a 1-0 decision under the lights at Steph Pettit Stadium in a win over Mansfield on Wednesday.
Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) scored the lone goal in the contest, netting a sensational strike from a long distance to put her team up for good. Merklin and the Huskies' defense hung tough through the entire contest en route to the seventh shutout of the season for the junior goalkeeper and the team.
The Bloomsburg women's soccer team begins a pivotal week of PSAC East games this week, with PSAC Tournament spots up for grabs. The Huskies are on the road on Wednesday, October 30, to take on Kutztown. Bloomsburg returns to Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday, November 2, for a matchup with West Chester and Senior Day.
