BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Two from the Bloomsburg women's soccer team received further distinctions this season as part of the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Atlantic All-Region team announced Tuesday afternoon. The D2CCA all-region teams are voted on by sports information directors in their respective regions.

Samantha Merklin (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) earned first-team honors in her first season between the woodwork for the Huskies. Erin Ranegan (Wilmington, Del./Conrad School of Science) received a second-team all-region spot for her senior efforts. It is the third time in five seasons Bloomsburg has placed multiple players on D2CCA All-Region squads.

Merklin's impressive first season at Bloomsburg provided tremendous success and consistency for the junior. The goalkeeper finished the season 11th nationally in save percentage at .882 with a .684 goals against average. Merklin is the only goalkeeper in the country with a save percentage above .880 to average over saves per contest, recording 96 stops in 19 games. The junior finished the season with nine shutouts. The goalkeeper played every second this season for a Huskies squad that finished 9-5-5. Merklin added first-team All-PSAC East honors to her collection this season, making her a two-time all-conference selection.

Ranegan has been a staple of the Bloomsburg defense for four seasons, adding another all-region accolade to her career after third-team United Soccer Coaches recognition the previous season. The senior is a three-time All-PSAC East honoree, earning her second-career first-team nod this season. Ranegan is the 15th three-time all-conference player in program history and the 11th to become a multiple-time first-team honoree. Ranegan amassed four points and two assists for 10 points in her career.
