GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three members of the Bloomsburg volleyball team earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors as announced on Tuesday. The Huskies' selections are senior
Maura Uschock (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield), junior
Marlee Johnson (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) and sophomore
Sophie Wales (Port Matilda, Pa./State College).
Uschock, pursuing her MBA, earns her second CSC Academic All-District honor of her career. The defensive specialist was previously honored in 2022. The Irwin, Pa.-native played in all 27 matches for the Huskies while recording 25 aces, 175 digs and 26 assists.
Johnson picked up her first career CSC Academic All-District selection after a standout year for the Huskies. The junior started in all 27 contests and was one of three Huskies to play in every set. Johnson led Bloomsburg in points (345), kills (329) and total attacks (1017).
Wales, in pursuit of a Health Sciences degree, garnered her first CSC Academic All-District honor as a sophomore. The Port Matilda, Pa.-native finished fourth on the team in kills (157), points (227.5) and aces (33).
The 2024 Academic All‐District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve – playing in at least 50% of the team's contests.
Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First, second and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in late December. The CSC Academic All‐District® teams include the student‐athletes listed on the following pages.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All‐America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024‐25 Divisions II and III Academic All‐ America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All‐America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
