Box Score 4 BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team notched four wins over the weekend as it hosted the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships.

Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) posted an opening round win against Andres Urrutia and Lucas Henke of West Chester, 6-3. The pair fell in the round of 16 to West Virginia Wesleyan's Mika Kreisel and Jed Platts, 2-6.

The duo of
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and
Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) lost 1-6 to West Chester's Brady Burns and Felix Weber.

In singles play,
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) posted a 6-0, 6-4 victory against Salem's Pable Guillen. Soria fell in the second round 1-6, 3-6 to Ken Watanabe from Fairmont State.

The 2023-24 PSAC Freshman of the Year,
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) won his opening round contest against Fairmont State's Jasper de Brujin, 6-2, 6-2. Dementev dropped his round of 32 match to Marcelo Pinto from Charleston, 4-6, 2-6.

Patel moved to the second round with a convincing 6-0, 6-0 win over West Liberty's Christopher Burns. Vicente Garcia from Charleston took down Patel, 2-6, 1-6, in the round of 32.

Albert Martin (Barcelona/Instituto Menendez y Pelayo) battled with Edinboro's Masayuki Matsuno in the opening round, falling 6-4, 2-6 (6-10). Casamitjana lost to Davis & Elkins' Santiago Ordonez, 6-0, 2-6 (7-10). Alex Higuera fell 3-6, 5-7 to Frostburg State's Viktor Boban.

Men's tennis returns to action on Saturday, October 5 as they host the Fall Flighted Championship at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.
