LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Kody Besser (Lacey Township, N.J./Lacey Township) is the PSAC Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week after making his return to the starting lineup.

Besser helped the Huskies defensively to a 1-0-1 start in conference play with a 0-0 draw on the road against East Stroudsburg before the team returned to Steph Pettit Stadium to earn a 2-0 victory over West Chester. The Golden Rams and Warriors entered the week as the No. 4 and No. 5 teams in the Atlantic Region by the United Soccer Coaches.

The senior defender anchored a defense that held its opponents to five shots on target last week, keeping some of the conference's best offensive threats off the scoresheet. Besser additionally chipped in his first point of the season in the win over West Chester, providing an assist on the team's second goal. 

The weekly honor for Besser is his fifth defensive award and sixth in his four seasons with the Huskies.

The Bloomsburg men's soccer team begins the second week of PSAC action on the road with a trip to Shippensburg on Wednesday, October 8. The Huskies return to Steph Pettit Stadium on Saturday, October 11, for Senior Day and a matchup with Millersville.
