KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Bloomsburg women's soccer team moves up to the No. 20 position in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll. The Huskies jump up one spot in the Atlantic Region poll, moving to second in the region.
The Huskies began the week last Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over Lock Haven. Bloomsburg scored its two in a matter of seconds, with Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) finding Emma Wilkinson (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) for the senior's first career goal on a cross from one end of the box to the other. Olivia Thompson (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) doubled the Huskies advantage by poaching the ball while on the press and beating the goalkeeper with her left foot to secure the result. Bloomsburg would fall in an unfortunate matter on the road on Saturday, conceding in a 1-0 defeat on an own goal against Kutztown to sit at 6-2-2 overall.
The Huskies kick off a three-game stretch at home beginning on Wednesday, October 8, with a contest at 6:00 p.m. against Shippensburg.
