LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - For a tremendous individual performance in the Huskies regular-season finale, junior defender Daryn Savage (Bensalem, Pa./Archbishop Wood) is the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Savage, Bloomsburg's leading goal scorer, saved one of her best offensive performances for the last in the team's 2-1 win over Lock Haven on Wednesday. After the Huskies went down a goal to begin the second half, it was Savage from Bloomsburg's corner routines that tied things up before eventually putting away the game winner. Savage headed home her first goal of the game and less than 90 seconds later, followed through on a second whipped ball from the corner flag to secure the victory.
Savage's award marks five weekly honors from the PSAC this season, joining Alexa Arrigale (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional), Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township), and Samantha Merklin (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) (twice) as honorees.
