BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The No. 6 Bloomsburg field hockey team is set to compete in quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament as it heads to No. 3 Shippensburg on Tuesday, November 4.

It is the 40th appearance in the conference tournament for the Huskies and the 11th under the guidance of head coach Nikki Hartranft.

Tuesday's matchup marks the second of the season between Bloomsburg and Shippensburg. The first meeting on October 18 saw the Huskies defeat the Raiders in a shootout after 80 scoreless minutes of action. The win snapped an 11-game losing streak to SU, dating back to the 2015 PSAC Quarterfinals.

The last three postseason meetings between these two programs have been decided in extra time, with Shippensburg holding the edge with a 2-1 record. In the PSAC Semifinals last season, Shippensburg scored with under a minute to play in regulation before scoring in overtime en route to winning the PSAC Championship. The Raiders won in similar fashion in the 2018 PSAC Quarterfinals in a 2-1 win while Bloomsburg claimed a 3-2 overtime victory in 2015. Overall, the Huskies hold a 10-4 record over SU in the PSAC tournament.

Bloomsburg's Maura Greek (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Shippensburg's Emma Albee are among the top goaltenders in the nation. Albee leads the Division II in shutouts with 10 while Greek sits second with nine. Each average under one goal per game this season while playing every minute for their respective teams.

Offensively, the Huskies are led by junior Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs), who has a career-high 16 goals and 34 points in 17 games this season. Sophie Lawler (Newport, Pa./Newport) leads the team in assists with seven while Kate Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) is second on the team in points with 16, notching five goals and six assists. For the Raiders, Lilly Cantabene, Kelly Naudé and Elainia Fragassi have each tallied eight goals this year.

The winner will advance to the PSAC Semifinals on Friday, November 7 hosted by the No. 1-seed Kutztown. No. 2 East Stroudsburg earned a bye to the PSAC semifinals while No. 4 West Chester hosts No. 5 IUP in the other quarterfinal matchup. The Huskies are looking to capture the 17th PSAC Championship in program history.

Tickets for Tuesday's contest must be purchased in advanced through Hudl Ticketing. Students of PSAC institutions get in free with a valid student ID. Fans can watch the game live available here.
